A long established cider apple producing red fruits with a bitter flavour
Malus domestica ‘Stoke Red’ is a long-standing cider apple tree that first gained attention during the 1920s when trees were discovered to be growing in Rodney Stoke, Somerset. This specimen will crop rather heavily, making it a reliable addition to a beginner’s garden. The fruits are of a classically beautiful, deep red shade, and produce a sharp, mildly astringent juice that is excellent for cider making.
